A MANUFACTURING EXPANSION WITH MAJOR ELECTRICAL DEMANDS

Renewal by Andersen, the window replacement division of the Andersen Corporation, aimed to expand its manufacturing campus by a staggering 350,000 square feet. In 2019, Andersen employed Opus Design Build to oversee this expansion, and Opus in turn engaged Collins as its electrical partner.

Working closely with both Andersen and Opus, Collins efficiently designed and installed the campus’ indoor and outdoor lighting and power systems. Due to its size and electrical requirements, Renewal’s manufacturing campus draws its power from two 480-volt electrical services. Two systems that contribute to the facility’s significant power needs are its centralized dust collection system (which is powered by a 400-horsepower motor and services more than 20 cutting stations), and its building-wide air conditioning system.
