NEW BUILD-TO-SUIT ADVANCED ENGINEERING & R&D FACILITY

BAE Systems relocated its Combat Mission Systems operations to a new 247,765-square-foot facility in Maple Grove, Minnesota after more than 84 years in leased Twin Cities locations. Collins served as the design-build partner for the project’s electrical and technology systems, delivering the power and digital infrastructure required to support engineering, prototyping, and product development.

As a fully electric facility, the project required substantial power capacity and reliable infrastructure. Collins provided four 4,000A, 480V electrical services, a 750kW generator, a 300kVA UPS for mission-critical continuity, and extensive electrical distribution to support thousands of equipment connections throughout the engineering and fabrication spaces. Collins also designed and installed the facility’s technology systems, including network infrastructure, security infrastructure, paging, sound masking, and fire alarm systems.
