Collins partnered with McGough Construction to renovate the fourth-floor inpatient rehabilitation unit at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. The effort included relocating the registration area, expanding the inpatient space and converting the unit’s new and existing rooms to provide a more private, family-friendly experience for patients and their caregivers.
Working with a tight deadline and minimal space for staging materials, Collins installed lighting and lighting controls, normal and critical-power fire alarm, voice data, security and nurse-call components—all while the hospital continued to serve patients and their families. Using lean construction methods, Collins was able to complete all phases of the project on time—with little to no disruption of hospital services.
