Supporting Responsible Energy Production

In 2016 and 2018, Xcel Energy invested heavily in its Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant—the largest carbon-free energy source in Minnesota—with the purchase of two new generators manufactured and installed by Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS). To bring these massive, critical generators online during scheduled power outages, MHPS turned to Collins, Xcel Energy’s long-time electrical contractor, for full-service electrical support.
