When the University of St. Thomas planned the construction of a new four-story building to accommodate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), Collins was selected to provide preconstruction and technology services for the high-tech project.
Together with the general contractor, Collins developed a comprehensive strategy for installation of the data network infrastructure, specialized smoke control systems, voice data, access control, and sophisticated audio/visual elements for an audio recording studio, TV video studio, performance hall and instrument rehearsal room. Collins ultimately installed over 61 miles of category cable and nearly seven miles of access control cable for this complex project
