Improving Mobility & Safety Along a Key Highway 52 Corridor

Highway 52 is a critical, regional connection between the cities of St. Paul and Rochester, Minnesota. To improve experiences and connectivity for the people, goods, and services that rely on this corridor, the Minnesota Department of Transportation turned to Collins to install a state-of-the-art Traffic Management System (TMS) along this economically significant stretch of roadway.

A network of technologies and strategies used to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion, the TMS that Collins installed utilizes sensors, cameras, and other tools to continuously gather data on traffic volume, speed, and flow. Today, this data is analyzed to identify potential problems and optimize traffic flow—improving safety and efficiency on this critical Minnesota highway.
