Joey grew up in Strandquist, MN about 30 miles north of Thief River Falls. He enjoys every kind of hunting: bow, muzzleloader, and waterfowl as well as big and small game. Inspired by growing up only two hours from Lake of the Woods, Joey also likes to fish. He enjoys watching and playing sports as well as riding his Harley; he also likes to spend time with his family, which includes six adorable nephews!
After high school, Joey moved to the Twin Cities and got into the electrical apprenticeship program. Kyle Raasch helped him get hired as a pre-apprentice for Collins, which he did for a year before finally getting into the apprenticeship. After completing his first year of the apprenticeship, Collins asked Joey to come into the office to try out purchasing. After doing so for the summer, he decided to continue working in the office as a purchasing assistant. Joey has been with Collins for three years. He’s made many great memories working with everyone he’s gotten to know, but one of his favorite memories is going to Ely with some of the guys in the office. Joey has been to Mexico twice, but would really enjoy going to Norway as it is part of his heritage. One food he couldn’t give up is pizza! Peaky Blinders is one of his favorite TV shows, and Over The Top is one of his favorite movies.
