As a result of suburbanization across the Twin Cities, the once thriving Brookdale Shopping Center was in need of a new approach to serving its retail customers. The plan? Transform the mostly-vacant mall into a new shopping center anchored by a Walmart Supercenter and Kohl’s—and rename the center “Shingle Creek Crossing.”
Collins was selected as the design-assist electrical contractor for the 65-acre retail development. Systems for this project included area site lighting, decorative pedestrian lighting, utility coordination, switchgear, lighting control, storm water detention, and decorative water feature power.
