PROJECT MANAGER/ESTIMATOR

Collins seeks an experienced Project Manager/Estimator to provide accurate bids and oversee progress on major construction projects.

Review specifications and drawings and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and provide accurate estimates.
Confer and negotiate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, using local expertise to estimate costs.
Solicit material and subcontractor quotations.
Prepare electronic estimates using On-Screen Takeoff and AccuBid.
Prepare professionally detailed proposals.
Create project plans from estimates, and define tasks, schedules, and necessary personnel.
Attend customer meetings and respond to questions.
Visit job sites to assess progress, maintain logs, troubleshoot problems, and evaluate work.

5+ years of related estimating experience.
Associate degree in electrical estimating and design or bachelor’s degree in construction management or electrical engineering.
Ability to estimate multiple projects concurrently, propose cost-saving alternatives to specified means and methods, and think strategically about project approach.
Skill at preparing conceptual pricing.
Experience reading blueprints, specifications, and other RFP documentation. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, various construction types, and building occupancies.
Understanding of lighting, power distribution, mechanical equipment, and low-voltage systems.
Background in design-build and design-assist delivery methods.
Well-organized, detail-oriented and able to deliver accurate and timely work in a fast-paced setting.
Outgoing personality with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AccuBid Classic, On-Screen Takeoff and AutoCad.
Dependable and responsible team member who fulfills obligations.
Ability to work on phone and computer for extended periods of time and outside of standard business hours when necessary.
